With the world launch of the FE75 tablet press in 2014, Fette Compacting completed the FE series, a series that stands for maximum efficiency in pharmaceutical production. 10 years earlier, Fette Compacting had founded a subsidiary in the Chinese city of Nanjing whose 10-year anniversary was celebrated in October. The construction of the customer center in Schwarzenbek has laid the foundation for a new chapter of growth.
In 2011, Fette Compacting began to develop the FE series with focused technologies to accurately target the demands of tablet production. Which of these production solutions will be most efficient for a given customer depends on the particular products involved. For the manufacturing of generic products, as an example, this means high quality at minimum cost. On the other hand, if products containing highly active substances are concerned, special precautions for the protection of the operators need to be taken.
In 2014, Fette Compacting completed the series with the FE75, and developed a machine with the highest yield in the industry: the double-sided rotary press is capable of producing more than 1.6 million tablets every hour - on a footprint of only two square meters. Like the other machines in the FE series, it is particularly easy to use. Its easily-fitted components make for short product changeover and servicing times. The FE75 compliments the two earlier models in this innovative series - the FE55 and the FE35 - with a type of machine that sets new standards for productivity in tableting.
Successful globalization - 10 years of Fette Compacting Nanjing.
The factory in Nanjing began operation in 2004 and now, as Fette Compacting's second production site, is a symbol for the company's international growth. Now manufacturing about 100 tablet presses each year, Fette Compacting Nanjing has undergone remarkable development - a true success story. On 10 October 2014, more than 400 guests gathered for a fitting celebration of this achievement. In her speech, partner Regine Bengel described the anniversary as a special event in the story of the whole LMT Group: "It is an impressive example of what our group of companies can achieve: top technology, engaged employees, and close international cooperation. Over the past years, our employees have succeeded in setting up a production site at the highest technological level."
Faster to the customer: new construction in Schwarzenbek
The Schwarzenbek site is also on the road to growth. In July 2014 the sod was first turned for the Fette Compacting division's new customer and development center. Contemporary testing and acceptance rooms for tablet presses, as well as a customer center with exhibition and conference rooms, are under construction in the new building. Upon completion more rooms will be available to Fette Compacting's customers, where machines with the most up-to-date equipment will be featured. This will mean that in future it will be possible to test more machines in parallel and under production conditions. The existing administration building is also being modernized as part of the building project. This will create the space Fette needs to accommodate our rapid growth.
