  • World premiere for first capsule filling machine
  • Plans to develop business with tableting technology
  • Investments of 50 million euro by 2020

New York/Schwarzenbek, April 26, 2016 - Fette Compacting, a member of the LMT Group, will be celebrating a world premiere at the Interphex in New York. The German manufacturer of special machinery will be presenting its first capsule filling machine in the form of the FEC40. This machine enables users to produce up to 400,000 capsules an hour - twice as many compared to conventional machines. In the years to come, the company hopes to establish capsule filling technology as a new division and continue to drive dynamic growth in the area of tableting technology, as explained by Olaf J. Müller, CEO LMT Group and Division President Fette Compacting: "We have formulated unambiguous growth targets for the Group and for Fette Compacting. We want the LMT Group to achieve sales of 540 million euro by 2020, with a significant contribution being made by Fette Compacting in that we will be developing our leading position in the area of tableting technology while simultaneously tapping new areas of business. For us, capsule filling technology is a segment in which we wish to get involved and grow over the long term. This step has been considered carefully as we know the customers and their requirements on efficient production of solids."

Investments in a new plant in Nanjing, expansion of the international sales network and development of business with tableting tools

All in all, Fette Compacting hopes to achieve annual growth of eight percent on average over the next five years. This growth will be supported by total investments of around 50 million euro with funds being injected into developing a new tablet press production facility in Nanjing, China, which is to be commissioned in 2017, developing the international sales network and advancing business with tableting tools - an area where Fette Compacting has primarily been active as an OEM to date. In the years to come, the company also hopes to significantly increase its share of business with OEM technology and spare parts, as well as taking decisive steps, explains Olaf J. Müller. "Tableting tools represent one of the decisive keys for efficiency and quality in tablet production. As the requirements on production gain in complexity, perfect interplay between machines and tools is also increasingly important. Business which has to date been heavily characterized by third-party suppliers will increasingly shift into focus on account of growing requirements. And we will expand our range accordingly."
