Groundbreaking Ceremony for the New Customer Development Center

Fette Compacting invests in the future: Groundbreaking ceremony for the new Customer Development Center

Today’s groundbreaking marks the beginning of an important strategic construction project at Fette Compacting’s headquarters in Schwarzenbek: the new Customer Development Center, also known as CDC’25. This state-of-the-art innovation center will be a cornerstone in Fette Compacting’s transformation from a machinery manufacturer to a holistic process partner for the pharmaceutical industry.

A Strong Commitment to the Region and the Site
The new building on Grabauer Strasse symbolizes Fette Compacting’s ongoing transformation: from a production-focused equipment manufacturer to a trusted partner that supports its clients from formulation development to commercial tablet production. “With CDC’25, we are creating a dedicated space for research, development, and close collaboration. It’s a clear statement of our commitment to this region, our headquarters, and our global customer network,” emphasizes Joachim Dittrich, CEO of Fette Compacting.

With this project, the company sends a strong signal of continuity and progress at its headquarters in Schwarzenbek. “CDC’25 is much more than a new facility—it’s a place where ideas are born and talent can grow,” adds Anke Fischer, CFO of Fette Compacting. “By investing in modern working environments and spaces for interdisciplinary teams, we strengthen our appeal as an employer with deep local roots and a global outlook.”

Fette Compacting has partnered with Vollack, an experienced specialist in the planning and construction of sustainable, energy-efficient buildings for offices, industry, and healthcare. Johannes Swodenk, Partner at Vollack Hamburg, explains: “As general planners and construction managers, we are supporting the new high-tech customer center from concept to completion. Our clients benefit from seamless project execution and sustainably realized buildings. We are proud to stand alongside Fette Compacting for this milestone.”

Platform for Innovation and Process Partnership
The new Customer Development Center will include advanced laboratories and cleanrooms designed for GMP-compliant, production-oriented formulation and process development. Whether for laboratory analysis, technology transfer, or continuous direct compression with the FE CPS system, CDC’25 embodies the strategic vision: “Together – from lab to production”. “Our customers face increasing pressure to bring new products to market faster and more efficiently,” says Dr. Marten Klukkert, Chief Customer Officer at Fette Compacting. “CDC’25 will be the place where we address these challenges together—with mutual trust, innovative technologies, data-driven analysis, and interdisciplinary expert teams.”

As part of the company’s overall strategy, CDC’25 not only drives technological advancement but also reinforces Fette Compacting’s competitive edge globally. It opens new opportunities for collaboration with research institutions, universities, and industry partners.
