Privacy Statement

With the following information, we would like to provide you, as a customer, business partner, supplier, vendor or their employees, with an overview of how we process your personal data, as well as your rights under the applicable data protection laws. Please note that this general data protection information does not constitute the data protection declaration of our websites - you can find this at https://www.fette-compacting.com/en/data-protection .

I. Data Processing: Purposes and Legal bases 

Purposes of Data Processing 
We may process your personal data for the following purposes: 

  • Contract initiation and performance; sale of products and services

We may process your personal data to fulfill contracts, handle communications, and manage invoicing. Data will be deleted when the contract and related obligations are fulfilled and statutory retention periods have expired. For this reason, we may process data such as name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, ID card, access authorizations and, if applicable, sales data, data on your position and function in the company.

  • Business relationship management 

We process your contact information to manage ongoing business relationships and future inquiries. Data is deleted once no longer necessary or upon your objection. For this, we may process your contact related information. 

  • Marketing and customer surveys

We may use your email address or other contact information in connection with the sale of products or services for direct marketing of similar products or services, conduct market research and satisfaction surveys, unless you have objected to the processing. You can object at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us directly.

  • Newletters 

We may use your personal data (e.g. email address), if you signed up to our newsletters based on your voluntary consent.  The newsletters provide you with information about new products and services, special offers, and others. In certain regions, we may send you a confirmation email after you have completed the registration form. In such a case the registration is not activated until you have clicked on the link in the confirmation email. If you register to our newsletters, we may include individual tracking technologies in our newsletters, with which we can recognize when the newsletter sent to you was accessed or opened and individualize the links to determine when you clicked on which link. You can unsubscribe from the newsletters at any time. Simply use the “unsubscribe” link, which is found at the end of every email. 

  • Respond to requests 

We may collect your personal data in order to respond to your request.

  • Audio and video conferencing

We may process your personal data when using audio and video conferencing tools, such as the data you provide/enter to use the tools (e-mail address and/or your telephone number). Furthermore, the tools process the duration of the conference, start and end (time) of participation in the conference, number of participants and other information related to the communication process (metadata). The data is processed based on our legitimate business interest to respond to your requests or to perform our (pre-)contractual obligations. 

The provider of these tools may also process technical data to facilitate this communication. Please note that we do not have full influence on the data processing. For more information, please refer to their relevant data protection policies.

Legal Bases of Data Processing

We may process your personal data based on:

  • Your consent, which you may withdraw anytime;

  • Performance of (pre)contractual obligations, including quotations, order processing, deliveries, invoicing, and related communications;

  • Compliance with legal obligations (tax, trade, sanctions, anti-money laundering laws, etc.);

  • Legitimate interests, including relationship management, internal administration, IT security, compliance activities, and improving our products and services.

     

I. Data sources
Personal data that we have not collected directly from you may be taken from publicly accessible sources (e.g. trade register, website, press) or collected from the following sources: other persons in your company, if we need your personal data to process a specific request or in the context of an ongoing business relationship; credit agencies.

II. Storage period
Unless we have already informed you in detail about the duration of data processing, we delete personal data when it is no longer required for the aforementioned processing purposes, you have revoked your consent to data processing and there are no statutory retention obligations that prevent deletion/destruction. 

III. Data recipients
We may transfer your personal data to third parties in order to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Statement. Due to Fette Compacting’s international group structure, certain departments and persons require on a need-to-know basis to process your personal data. For all intragroup data access and transfers, we comply with applicable data protection requirements.

Furthermore, trusted third party service providers (e.g. IT service providers, data/shredders, logistics, printing services, telecommunications, debt collection, consulting and advisory services as well as sales and marketing, service providers for advertising mailings), may also receive data. We only share your personal data to recipients outside Fette Compacting, if there is a legal basis for the data transfer and appropriate data transfer mechanisms are implemented. 

IV. Data transfers to third countries
We may transfer your personal data to third countries (e.g., countries that require additional safeguards by applicable data protection regulations) only and insofar as this is necessary or required for the fulfilment of the purposes described in this Statement, there is a legal basis for the data transfer and appropriate data transfer mechanisms are implemented.

V. Your rights
You may have the right to:

  • access your data as well as receive a copy of your data;

  • rectification and erasure;

  • restriction of processing;

  • data portability;

  • object, if the data is processed pursuant to the legitimate interests of Fette Compacting;

  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes applicable data protection regulations.
